Are you interested in auditioning for the Ladybirds?

First, make sure to watch us at O-Show: Saturday, September 2nd at 8pm in Shriver!

Fall 2017 Auditions:

When: Tuesday, September 5th at 5:30pm

Where: Caplan Dance Studio.

The current team members will consider the following when selecting new members (Babybirds!) during audition:

Technique

Including but not limited to: kicks, front and side leaps, pirouettes, a la seconde turns, toe touches, splits, and calypsos.

Choreography

Short sections of two previous Ladybirds dances will be taught to the group and then each dancer will be rated on both her ability to learn the choreography and her attention to performance quality.

We try to keep the audition process professional, fun, and relaxed!

What to Wear: Wear whatever you feel comfortable dancing in (shorts/leggings/ yoga pants, tank top/t-shirt). Leotards and tights are not required, but if you feel most comfortable in this attire, do not hesitate to dress this way! Please be sure your hair is secure and out of your face. In regards to shoes, bring appropriate footwear that you can comfortably dance in (jazz shoes, foot undeez, etc.). You may dance in socks or bare feet if you prefer to do so!

Commitment required of every Ladybird:

We practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7, and Saturdays from 12-3. We have a specific attendance policy outlined in the Constitution, and practices are mandatory.
We usually have a performance about once a month, and all performances are mandatory.
Each Ladybird is also required to participate in any fundraisers, community service events or other non-dance related activities that come up throughout the year (this also doubles as team bonding!).
Each member pays dues once a semester for costumes, shoes, t-shirts, etc., however DO NOT let money issues stop you from joining the team! Proper accommodations will be provided.
More than anything, we like to make dance fun and rewarding!
